She looked just like a painting, like all great artists do
And I could see her for a mile, even in that crowded room
She was all long hair and blue eyes, pretty as a picture
So I walked on over, and said "I'm sorry I must have missed you"

"Do you come here all that often?
Or is it your first time visiting?
Do you need someone to show you the ins and the outs?"
"No I've seen it all before"
I said "About that I have my doubts."

She was standing like a statue, at the dark end of the street
And the way the light hit her, she was pretty like a dream
And I said "Do you wanna go, to this little place I know
Where all the beautiful people are, you'll fit right in I'm sure."

"Do you go there all that often?
Or is it your first time visiting?
Do you need someone to show you the ropes?
'Cause I've given up on my dreams, my faiths, ambitions and my hopes.

Because my heart didn't break like I wanted it to
Right down the middle, so I could share it with you
It scattered into pieces of all different sizes"
And I said "If I can put it back together do I win one of your prizes?"

"I don't want to go back home, but I've got nowhere to stay on this coast
And I heard that you've got a king size bed, and you're looking for a queen,
To fill the space in it."

She was standing like a woman, but like a little girl would
And I was just a kid myself, always up to no good
So we run through the streets and tear off each others clothes
And we danced on bare feet, all the way home

"Do you come here all that often?
'Cause it seems like you never really left.
You look pretty comfortable here, so can we stay a while?"
